Abstract :
We present a method for contactless characterization of animal and human middle ear. For this investigation we have been using low-coherence interferometry performed in the form of single mode fiber-optic sensor scheme with one sensing fiber directed to the incus of middle ear. The vibrations of the incus have been induced by generation of acoustic pressure in the range of 70 to 90 dBA and frequency from 500 Hz to 5 kHz.
