Abstract
This article presents an automated sale and delivery of optical services with the guaranteed quality of service (QoS) using the multi-agent system (MAS) for QoS management which is composed of intelligent agents (IAs) that ensures the guaranteed QoS according to the service level agreements (SLAs) in the service delivery chain. The emerging intelligent optical networks combined with multi-agent system for QoS management opens up the exciting opportunities for connectivity providers to deliver the new and customized optical services. The business model centered on bandwidth trading is presented to demonstrate the need for various trade mechanisms, used by the IAs, which supports the creation of the electronic market (e-market) for the managed optical services (MOSs).
