Abstract
The significant part of the stray electromagnetic fields around a power system substation originate from the substation cables. The magnetic fields of the underground cables entering a substation have been calculated. The influence of the cables arrangement on the field levels is discussed, and the calculated field levels are compared to the reference levels proposed in the frame of the Croatian nonionizing radiation protection law.
