Abstract :
Fundamentals of a rigorous mode matching method for the calculation of vectorial electromagnetic fields of eigenmodes of 3D circular ring microresonators and bent guides are briefly described. Comparison of results with those obtained using two commercial bend mode solvers is shown. The polarisation of eigenmode fields of a bent strip guide is shown to be strongly hybrid. Application of the method for the modelling of microresonator based devices is briefly discussed.
