Relay protection maintenance and testing - challenges and solutions

Elektrodistribucija Beograd (EDB) is one of the largest power utility companies in Serbia, serving around 670.000 customers in the city of Belgrade and in its vicinity. Hurdles and problems we are faced with are typical for the power utility company operating in the transition country. The purpose of this paper is to explain some of the challenges and to present relay protection systems maintenance and testing practice adopted in our company.
