Abstract :
A diffractive optical element (DOE) aimed to reshape a Gaussian laser beam into a straight uniform light line is presented. Theory, the design procedure and technology are briefly described. Moreover a binary reflective DOE using a technology based on UV lithography and wet etching have been manufactured. Despite of a lot of fabrication errors, the DOE generates a bright and straight line pattern, which can be used in some technical areas.
