Abstract :
This paper presents computer simulations of an electric drive employing a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM). A dynamic model of the PMLSM is based on the electrical circuit and mechanical equations of the PMLSM. Nonlinear equivalent circuit parameters were obtained using the finite element method. Simulations were then performed applying a dynamic simulation software. After the controller was determined, computer simulations were used to obtain transient responses of the drive. The simulations results were compared to the results of the measurements done on the laboratory set-up.
