  • Abstract
TETRA standard, within the European Telecommunication Standards Institute ETSI defines a digital mobile radio system for voice and data communication in ultra high frequency (UHF) band. The main function of the system is to provide service to private/professional mobile radio (PMR) types of users. TETRA system offers a robust and professional mobile communication through cell type system deployments, traditional PMR telephony and digital data transmission. It is a highly reliable system suitable for use by different types of users that require their communication system to provide instant transmission, high reliability and availability with an additional set of services designed to accommodate the everyday use of the system as well as provide unconditional support in extraordinary circumstances. This paper describes a technical solution for a TETRA network covering the Croatian coast and islands, the Adriatic Sea and the protected Croatian ecological area in the Adriatic. The technical solution is developed for the needs of interested government institutions, 112 protection and rescue service, automatic identification system for traffic control in the Croatian national sea and other potential users
