Stress concentration in an element of ship´s electromagnetic pump

This work analysed an element of electromagnetic pump of ship´s cooling engine installation. The element is in the form of a thin cylindrical pipe weakened by small circular hole, under axial compression. The stress concentration factor around the hole is defined by proposed analytical solution, and compared with the experimental results obtained by the 3D photoelastic frozen stress method.
