  • Abstract
    The paper presents simulations of photonic band gap structures with the novel fully-vectorial three-dimensional calculation method-the plane wave admittance method. The band structure of a photonic crystal slab is computed and the influence of photonic crystal on the fundamental mode of vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser is analyzed. In both cases the plane-wave admittance method proves to be an efficient computational tool.
