Abstract
The development of information and electric power has driven a spectacular increase of nonlinear loads on the electric distribution network. These nonlinear loads are composed of real polluting agents and constitute the principal cause of diverse problems: voltage deformation, neutral currents. From the theoretical viewpoint, the traditional equations of the power must be put back into the problem. The same notion of current is different to that in the sinusoidal or deformed regime. There is no consensus on the diverse methods to calculate the power in the deformed regime. The main object of the present paper is to evaluate the recently proposed theories and present the evidence for problems associated with each of them. The results obtained show the existence of points of resemblance and convergence between the most different theories and the necessity of following research in this domain
