Abstract :
Nonlinear characteristics of switching power supplies cause unwanted disturbances in the current network. The basic boost converter is used between the single-phase front-end diode rectifier and DC-to-AC inverter for three-phase AC motors drives. The proposed control method is used in the simulation program for shaping the input current and controlling the input power factor (cos phi =1). This so-called active filter yields nearly sinusoidal input currents at constant switching frequency.
