Abstract
The well-known routing approaches, such as fixed routing, fixed-alternate routing and adaptive routing are the basic strategies that are widely used for the resolving the routing problem in optical WDM networks. It is shown that the best network performances could be achieved by applying the dynamic or adaptive routing algorithms. In this paper, an implementation of a dynamic routing algorithm for wavelength routed optical networks (WRON) based on multi-criteria optimization technique is examined. The aim of this algorithm is to find the set of dominant paths among all the possible paths between two nodes in a network. For this purpose, we developed the software that computes such paths according to the three assumed criteria. This procedure for concrete optical WDM network topology has been performed. As output, we obtain the best candidate paths that could be used for lightpath establishing
