Abstract :
In this study, a new topology for single-phase five-level inverter is introduced. Operational principles of the proposed inverter are explained and operational topologies are respectively given. A method and a formula are improved for calculating switching angles. The validity of the proposed inverter is verified through simulations. For alleviating harmonic components, a LC filter is designed and proposed inverter is simulated in the state of using LC filter. For comparison, a conventional H-bridge inverter is basically simulated. Simulation results of output voltage, load current and harmonic components of the output voltage and the load current are given and compared
