Abstract :
In this article we present a ChaNet - IPv6 channel emulation tool that is developed based on Netfilter packet filtering framework. It emulates network variables such as bandwidth, packet delay, jitter and packet discard probability between two end points that are defined by IPv6 addresses. Presented tool can emulate several parallel channels, each with its own characteristics. The ChaNet was created to enable the correlation testing between network characteristics and QoS in the next generation network laboratory environment. Through the article the complete ChaNet development process, including the prototype application architecture is analyzed
