Abstract :
In this paper, formulas computing the exact BER for adaptive antenna array systems in the presence of multiple correlated fading and interference and noise for coherent and incoherent BPSK and BFSK signals, using complex Wishart matrices, have been developed. With the newly developed exact BER computing formulas, which use the eigenvalues of complex Wishart matrices, the effect of LMS, RLS and SMI algorithms and various system parameters on the performance of adaptive antenna array systems have been analysed. It has been observed that, adaptive antenna array systems significantly increase the performance and spectrum efficiency of mobile communication systems
