Abstract
It was recently demonstrated that TSC (thermally stimulated conductivity) and TL (thermoluminescence) spectra in finite-size systems exhibit quite different behavior than those resulting from classical continuous (infinite volume) kinetic equations. The spectra have different features for monocrystalline, small-sized samples and polycrystalline or low-dimensional structures. The authors discuss the possibility of taking advantage of these characteristic features for the determination of trap parameters. The theory is compared to appropriate Monte Carlo calculations.
