Abstract
This paper presents an automated real-time fault localization tool that correlates SCADA and lightning information from the lightning location system (LLS). The aim of this approach is to produce on-line information on possible fault spots for the network operator and/or restoration crew in the field. The results are obtained by temporal and spatial correlation of information from SCADA, LLS and geographical data sources. The correlation is performed by the software package and results are available for on-line observation. Utilization of such a tool may significantly shorten the fault spotting process and improve overall power supply quality. Preliminary results are presented and commented on
