  • Abstract
Recent advances in computer systems allow the electroencephalogram (EEG) to be recorded using a large number of channels, with a high sampling rate, and over a long period of time. As a result, storage of the acquired data has become a major problem in many practical systems. The authors investigate this problem and provide a procedure for the specification of three critical parameters: the gain of the amplifier, the sampling rate, and the order of the analog filter. This design achieves high-efficiency for the use of the computer resources, while maintaining the required precision for accurate analysis of the EEG data.
