Abstract :
Fixation, which is the visual behavior of focusing any region in a scene on the fovea, is very important for the recognition processes. Since the retinal structure seems to play the main role in fixation, its structure is simplified in order to make a mathematical model on retinal signal processing. It is implemented into an algorithm of eye movements. After computer simulation using this algorithm on the simple displayed images, its computed eye movements are compared with actual human eye movements observed in a cognitive experiment. Analysis of both results reveals that they are very similar eye movements.
