Abstract :
This paper provides information obtained as a result of a series of subjective tests using audio, video telephony and video teleconference systems with various amounts of delay. Very stringent measures were taken to ensure that the results were not contaminated by echo. It proposes a set of delay objectives for video telephony and video teleconference terminals. These new objectives will allow system designers to design terminals which will enhance the terminal performance and consequently will allow users to be more spontaneous during conversations.
