Abstract :
Two new functions of the cellular neural network (CNN), image restoration and image symmetrization, are introduced. When the feedback operator, control operator and bias current of the CNN have been chosen properly, the image information is processed by the CNN under the control of these templates, resulting in the restoration or symmetrization of the image. Some examples of image restoration and symmetrization are given in this paper.
