Abstract
The effect of generator reactance on power transfer limits of EHV lines operating on the verge of voltage instability and having different series and shunt compensation schemes is investigated. Numerical results for maximum power transfer, critical angular separation and critical voltage are given with respect to five different compensation schemes considering different line length, power factors and degrees of series and shunt compensation.
