Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to present a system of control of AC/DC transistor power converters absorbing only active power from the AC source. In order to achieve sinusoidal source currents without increasing the transistors´ power losses, the authors propose a method of power converter control minimizing the number of the transistors´ switching and a simple quasi-resonant circuit to help the transistors´ commutation process. Experiments on a laboratory prototype confirm the good performance of this simple control system.
