Abstract :
The scattering of plane waves from zero-thickness perfectly conducting strips, surfaces and screens is a traditional topic of diffraction theory. However, a non-perfectly conducting structure such as an impedance strip is obviously of greater practical interest. We present the analytical-numerical method of solution of wave diffraction by an open circular impedance strip, which results in the algorithm with accuracy limited only by the computer´s digital precision. Some numerical results are available on the plane H- and E-polarized wave scattering. These results are based on the regularisation approach using the dual series equations and so-called Riemann-Hilbert problem technique. We extend this approach to the impedance boundary condition on the strip.
