Abstract
A general small-signal high-frequency extended modeling procedure for switching DC-DC converters is presented. The model derived from this approach can be used in both a continuous and discontinuous conduction mode for elementary and complex converters. The procedure can be easily programmed for computer-aided analysis of DC-DC converters. A pulse width modulated (PWM) buck converter and a boost converter with an output filter operating in the continuous conduction mode are used to illustrate the application of the method.
