Abstract :
This paper describes multi-agent and intelligent agents´ techniques used to improve a control and supervisory telematic system for a hydroelectric power plants cascade. The main aim of using multi-agent and intelligent agents is to modernize the supervisory control and data acquisition activities of the energetic installations at dispatcher level and at the hydroelectric power plants level. The modernized equipments insure the supervision, the remote measuring and control of all power production units. The derived acquisition databases and the real time analysis are very important in the automated process. Our intent is to present the main functions of the telematic system implemented for the hydroelectric power plants cascade (on the Somes river), the multi-agent techniques used to modernize it and its new hardware and software architecture. Finally, we show the results and our conclusions after the system´s integration at Hidroelectrica Company - Hidrocentrale Cluj Subsidiary
