Abstract :
The paper presents a review of the most important measurement methods applied to determination of yarn attributes and a project of new automatic computer method of yarn image processing and analysis. The yarn feature that we examined is hairiness because of its importance for textile industry. Proposed construction of standing for automated computer analysis of yarn hairiness is new and alternative to the ones currently applied in industry, the most popular of which are: Uster tester 3 and Shirley´s apparatus
