Abstract
H/sub /spl infin// optimal design of decentralized time varying controllers for causal linear finite-dimensional time invariant discrete-time (LTD) systems is considered. It is shown that, on the contrary to the full-feedback case, time varying controllers can outperform the time invariant ones for some LTD systems in the H/sub /spl infin// optimal control problem when the feedback structure is constrained to be decentralized.
