Abstract :
Gas sensors are used for fire detection, detection of gas in different spaces, i.e. in transportation of sensitive materials. Marine and navy applications are therefore very important. Model of a thin film conducting polymer gas sensor is described. There are two types of gas sensors´ model: with alternative current and with direct current. MatLab program package has been used for gas sensor simulation. Results of simulation are compared with the published experimental data. Simulation results are satisfactory close to experimentally obtained characteristics of gas species. The results show how to identify different gas species by using dielectric properties of thin polymer film. This is possible because every gas species have different resonant frequency. Different resonant frequency causes changes in model parameters
