Abstract :
A new type of VC DRO is described. The electronic tuning of the resonant frequency is performed by perturbing the electromagnetic field above the DR. A frequency shift of 30 MHz at about 8 GHz has been obtained. The mechanically tuning bandwidth ratio is greater than 8%. According to measured DR characteristics the performances of VC DRO have been predicted and good agreement with experimental data is obtained. The proposed method of voltage tuning is convinient for temperature compensation as well as digital and analog frequency modu1ation.
