Abstract :
This paper deals with the unilateral constraint modelling in Matlab/Simulink/SimMechanics in context of virtual prototyping as the modern approach to the design or innovation of advanced mechatronic products. First, the role of different type of model from simple one domain to virtual prototypes is discussed. Next, the importance of unilater constraints modelling in MBS as a part virtual prototype is remarked. After that, the Hertzian continuous force approach is chosen for the practical implementation of "point-edge" simulating block for SimMechanics.
