Abstract :
The topology of matrix-reactance frequency converter (MRFC) is based on buck-boost matrix-reactance chopper (MRC) with source switches arranged as in the matrix converter (MC). This kind of approach gives the possibility to obtain a load output voltage greater than the input one (similar as in MRC) and a frequency conversion (similar as in MC). In the previous research, a classical control strategy, attributable to Venturini, is used in the control circuit The modification of the improved Venturini control strategy and its application to the MRFC is proposed in this paper. The feasibility of the presented control strategy has been verified by a theoretical analysis and a computer simulation. Furthermore, on the basis of these investigations, a comparative study of the results showing performance of classical and improved Venturini control strategy is presented.
