  • Abstract
This paper presents the analysis and simulation of the circuit for improving the power factor in the input circuit for AC applications when using together rectifiers and inverters. On the not controlled and tension controlled rectifier the tension and the current are not in phase. On the not controlled rectifier, we have a reactive power which is used on the commutation of the device (the diode rectifier). To compensate the phase difference must inject a current depending on the load. The technique involves the use of bidirectional switches such as triacs. For a better compensation the switches must be commutated several times. The analysis is using the step matrix. The function of the converter is simulated using SPICE model for resistive -inductive load. The simulation is made for the each case. Also, a comparison between the waveforms obtained is made. The main feature of this topology is low costs, small size and simplicity. This topology can be use in on line work.
