Abstract :
In this paper, the performance of multiplication free one-bit transform based motion estimation in H.264/AVC is evaluated. It is shown that the multiplication free one-bit transform results in a minor performance decrease compared to conventional matching approaches, while it can provide significant speed and power savings particularly if implemented in hardware.
