A Spatiotemporal Inpainting Method for Blotches Removal in Old Color Films

In this paper, a spatiotemporal exemplar-based restoration method is proposed for concealing blotches in old color films. Data term in the existing exemplar-based inpainting algorithm is computed using spatiotemporal information, and thus defect regions are efficiently filled in. It is not requested to estimate true motion like other work in the interpolation process. The method is presented on synthetic and real image sequences, and very good concealment results are obtained.
