Abstract
Interconnection of IEEE 802.15.4 beacon enabled network clusters can be implemented through ordinary network nodes that switch between the clusters in order to accomplish the bridging function. The shared node-bridge-uses slotted CSMA-CA access for both transmitting and receiving data to and from the respective cluster coordinators. We develop the queuing model for the bridging algorithm in this case and discuss performance differences between acknowledged and non-acknowledged transfer.
