Abstract
This paper describes an adaptive data transfer protocol for networked motion tracking systems over variable bandwidth network links. This is an application level protocol, using UDP for data transport. The goal of the protocol is to keep the packet loss rate under a predefined limit thus allowing the control side predictor to work properly. The protocol makes use of the measured packet delay and packet loss in order to adapt to changing conditions of the network link.
