Abstract
This work describes analytical and numerical results related to the permittivity of novel honeycomb structures exhibiting negative Poisson´s ratio behaviour, i.e., expanding in all directions when pulled along one. The novel honeycomb configurations are composed of cylinders connected by tangent ligaments, and are currently proposed as core materials for Salisbury screens with multifunctional capabilities. Upper Hashin-Shritkman bounds are derived for the honeycomb geometries, and the analytical results are compared with the ones from quasistatic FD models.
