            Abstract :
The objective of the paper is related to the assessment of a current distribution induced along a straight thin wire excited at its center by the unit time-harmonic voltage source using both antenna theory and transmission line approach. The Pocklington integrodifferential equation arising from the thin wire antenna theory has been solved via the Galerkin-Bubnov indirect boundary element method (GB-IBEM) while the related telegrapher´s equation for straight wires have been solved using the transmission line modeling (TLM) technique. Some illustrative numerical results have been presented in the paper.
