Abstract
The need for changes of certain part of software after delivery is here from the beginning of electronic calculations. Required software changes are an inescapable consequence of the nature of software and the changing environment in which it is used. Majority of today´s software systems always meet with rapidly changing requirements, which result from changing environment, as well as rapidly changing requirements of users of these systems. The cost of maintenance of present, complex software systems is very high, and therefore any solutions that can improve maintenance productivity are bound to have dramatic impact on the overall profitability of companies. One of possible solutions of complex situation in the area of maintenance is development of intelligent maintenance of software systems, which should decrease maintenance costs and time needed for it. This article analyzes present state in the software maintenance, with emphasis on current problems in this area. Also provide a proposal of new architecture of software systems with an independent intelligent layer, which should ease the maintenance process of software systems.
