Abstract
This work approaches a CBR (Case-Based Reasoning) application in intelligent diagnosis of complex system used in railway bridges assessment in order to prove scientifically the necessary repairs. A theoretical and practical analysis of optimum amount of case basis described by multi-valued attributes in order to get a pertinent diagnosis with consistent outcomes is done. A work methodology to build such optimum case bases is also suggested.
