Abstract :
A problem of key development areas identification for regional development is discussed in the paper. Multiple-criteria decision support is applied. Dual-method approach is proposed. Parallel application of two MCDA methods: analytic hierarchy/network process (AHP/ANP) and DEMATEL. Both methods are based on a pair-wise comparison foundation and allow to include the influence of intangibles. However, there is slight difference with regard to form of delivered results. Therefore, parallel utilisation of the methods allows to enrich decision analysis to attain better results. The approach proved useful for realisation of the National Foresight Programme. A problem of key development areas identification for one of Polish regions—the Opole Region was coped with. Obtained results confirm usefulness of the approach.
