Abstract :
The work we are presenting refers to multimedia/video proxy-caching with the aim of designing a dynamic distributed system yielding good performance. For this we introduce a new utility function which is used when performing cache related operations for each stored object. A series of coefficients are used for fine tuning the influence of several object related characteristics inside this utility function. We employ an evolutionary approach for determining those coefficients and make a series of performance evaluations using the newly determined values. The measurements showed results twice as better than those reported by our previous work.
