Abstract :
In the paper the results of numerical study of a new dipole radiator for UWB applications are presented. The proposed dipole arm is combined with a triangle and trapezium. In order to find the optimal dimension of the dipole arm a suitable criterion was proposed. The results of the simulations confirmed that the proposed structure showed better matching than circular and elliptical structures. It was also found and verified numerically that the proposed dipole is characterised by an omni-directional radiation pattern.
