Abstract :
Frequency bands of wireless telecommunication systems are fixed by assignment in advance. Some frequency bands suffer from service quality due to heavy load; on the other hand low utilization of some bands decreases the spectrum efficiency. Current researches tend to focus on the systems which can dynamically access the spectrum so as to increase spectrum efficiency. In this study, an entire architecture is proposed for cognitive radio networks (CRNs), the advantages and the disadvantages of the selected architecture are mentioned. In the proposed architecture, all messaging between architecture entities, algorithms and messaging for frequency-hole detection and frequency management are defined. In this system long, medium and short term frequency monitoring/allocation algorithms are designed. In the proposed architecture basic structures are defined and their integral interaction is explained.
