Abstract :
The aim of this study was to compare the short-circuit forces in the U-type and I-type low voltage winding of a large power transformer. The comparison of forces calculated using 2D Rabinpsilas method and 3D finite element method is conducted. The influence of the winding helix pitch on the winding forces calculated using 3D finite element method is also investigated.
