Abstract :
An enormous interest from wind energy developers is forcing system operators to develop new solutions and proposals for connecting new wind farms without endangering the system security. Year by year the number of connected wind farms is increasing and the same trend also applies for the capacities of single wind farms. Small power systems are especially in a complicated situation because their configuration is not suitable for large wind power penetration. In this paper current situation and the future visions of wind power development in Estonia are described and additionally wind generation influence to Estonian power system is analysed based on conducted power system case study.
