Abstract
In this paper problem of machine vision optical filters usage in industrial vision systems is discussed. Particular attention is paid to applications where objects emitting intense thermal radiation are viewed. Problems accompanying high temperature measurements are regarded. Images of heat-emitting metals are used as an example. The analysis of image properties in function of metal temperature is carried out. The algorithm of optical filters self-acting change is proposed. It is based on results of image contrast analysis. The proposed algorithm automatically changes current filter into a stronger one eliminating human’s interference during the measurement process.
