Abstract :
In this paper we present our original methodology, in which square-shape palm detection and texture feature extraction is merged with polygon-shape palm detection and shape feature extraction. Polygon shape detection and shape feature extraction is based on characteristic hand geometry points. Such approach increased both detection and recognition efficiency of our palmprint biometrics system. As for our best knowledge, we are the first to apply such approach to the problem of human identification on the basis of palmprints.
